Val Assist helping expats all over France
From 2000, in the winter I started helping British house hunters to purchase properties. I was then regularly meeting with estate agencies, and translating legal documents at Notaries’ offices, giving me more than 20 years experience in property and notary translations.
In February 2006 I decided to create my own self-employed business as a translator. Here was the start of Val Assist.
My clients are mainly British families owning a holiday home or a permanent property all over France, and those that are buying or selling a property. I also assist French companies needing to communicate in English (liaising with French artisans and their British clients).
I soon realised that more than just translating documents in writing, my services were required when people could not communicate accurately because of the lack of language.
Many situations can be resolved easily when both parties understand each other, but when each party speaks a different language, it can quickly turn into a difficult situation to manage.
When I represent you, I will try not to take “no” for an answer and I will explore all the possibilities as if I were you. That is why the service provided is more than translating from French into English or English into French.
Val Assist provides explanations about the French system, advice on the way to sort out problems, and generally acts for people on their behalf in French.
